Let's talk about hair removal....

Let's talk about hair removal....

WANT TO BE READY TO PUT ON YOUR

TEENIE BIKINI AT ANYTIME?

We have a few options to get that smooth finish so we don't hyperventilate when we are invited for a last minute trip to the beach...

The old faithful razor

How it works: I'm sure you all know how a razor works....
Cost: $2(if you like your hair ripped out with a razor) - $15
Positives:
>Great for those last minute beach trips.
>You don't need to wait for hair to grow back before you can shave again.

Negatives:
>Everyone's arch nemesis- ingrown hairs.
>Within a day or two it's time to pick up the razor again.
>The ongoing costs of razors.

Waxing

How it works: Hot wax sets on the hair then you rip it out while trying not to cry like a hungry baby.
Costs: Brazillian $30-$70
Positives:
>4-6 weeks hair free.
>Fewer ingrown hairs.

Negatives:
>Need to wait for hair to grow to the size of a piece of rice before you can wax again, inconvenient when you want to be at the beach every day!
>Pain (until you get used to it) please see attached photo.
>All that pulling on FiFi cannot be good for gravity later on 😳

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Hair Removal

How it works: Intense Pulsed Light is attracted to the dark pigment in your hair follicles. The light heats the follicle to a high temperature, causing the blood supply to the follicle to cease, preventing future hair growth. It will not work on blonde, red or grey hairs.
Cost for Brazilian IPL $50+
Positives:
> After a number of sessions you will eventually be hair free with yearly maintenance needed. Although I had 6 sessions and still have hair (I am not excessively hairy by any means)
>The time it takes for hair to grow back will be longer with each session

Negatives:
> PAIN. Personally, for me, it felt like needles were stabbing each of my hair follicles with every zap. Not to mention I have an extremely high pain tolerance!!! Although some say it is pain-free?!
>$$$ Costs
>On going sessions

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LASER AND IPL?
While both reduce hair growth, the difference is the type of light used. Laser is a focused light and reaches a specified depth. IPL is able to target multiple levels where hair follicles may be present. IPL is a broad spectrum light that covers a larger area of hair in a shorter time.

Laser Hair Removal:

How it works: A laser beam is passed through the skin to an individual hair follicle. The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future hair growth.
Costs: From $30-$70 There are A LOT of SALES on laser hair removal right now Australian Skin Clinics and Clearskincare Clinics are just some of the places you can save up to 60%!
Positives:
>Pain free! Some say they experience a mild discomfort
>Cheaper than IPL
>Ongoing treatments needed. Each time you go the time between visits will lengthen. Eventually, you will be hair free with yearly maintenance needed.

Negatives:
>Can't really think of any!!

So there you have it. Laser Hair Removal takes the hair free trophy!! And with all these sales on right now we can all afford to be hair free all summer long!
